Disposition: [I will taking cues from both the manga and movie adaptations, but with game cues as well, of course!]

First Impression: A comfortable loner - Indeed, when one meets Minato for the first time, he is quiet, subdued and doesn't really speak unless spoken to (this is something isn't just because he's a silent protag with dialogue options, this is much the same in both the manga and movie adaptations as well). He is also seen as aloof and indifferent, even around death such as when we first meet him during the Dark Hour and when guns (although fake) were pointed at him. This is in large due to the traumatic event that happened ten years ago as he and his parents were involved in a horrific car crash that left him a orphan. Watching your parents die can have that effect on you. Also, because a lot of his dialogue options in beginning are very short answers (Yes, No, Whatever), he can come off as unintentionally rude or mean.

Introverted, but Sociable: Many comment that he seems to be introverted and reserved, in large due to the above loner status. However, his Social Links prove that when he wants to, he can be very sociable. While he still doesn't do much of the talking, he is very content with listening to the friends he makes. He likes hanging out, going to karaoke, playing at the arcade, seeing movies, even talking to an old couple at a bookstore or playing with a little girl at the jungle gym. Unlike future protagonists, most of his Social Links come from those not within his immediate SEES group (the girls aside, anyway). Minato manages to befriend several kinds of people throughout his year at Gekkoukan High, growing their bonds that eventually allow him to perform the eventual Great Seal that would not only take his life, but save humanity.

Kind and Engaging: While not at first, Minato does grow into a very kind individual. It wasn't so much that he was mean, but he did come off as cold and even a little rude based on the dialogue options given in the beginning. But, over time, those change to something kinder and more thoughtful. This is especially seen not just in the main plot of the story but in those Social Links I mentioned above. Helping an old couple at the bookstore move on from their son's death and the mark he made at the school (a persimmon tree that was threatened to be cut down) to a former monk who became an alcoholic and had previously abandoned his family but now learns to take ownership and apologize for his actions, even coming to care for the protagonist like a son. He even helps a little girl deal with her parent's divorce, learning to cope and accept that her parents still love her but they need their time apart from each other. Minato engages with those around him, changing them for the better and even himself.

Apathetic and Unfazed: As mentioned previously, his loner and introversion was in part due to the trauma of his past. This has also left him to act somewhat apathetic and unfazed but many things. It has led others to believe that he was (sarcastically) "Mr. Perfect" and that he will largely do what others ask of him (taking the leader position of the SEES group readily) and he isn't very concerned for his own well-being. It isn't really that he doesn't fear death, it's that he's apathetic towards it. It is what it is and he doesn't seem to care what happens to him. At least initially in the beginning the story and as he grows closer to both the SEES and his Social Links, he learns to move past his apathy toward death and to actually care what happens to himself. However...

Protective: The above only applies to himself. When it comes to his friends, that's another matter entirely and he will protect them as best as he can. No one should suffer the same fate of his parents. As he grows closer to his friends, the fear of death grows and his apathy diminishes as the will to live grows within and he can't stand the thought of losing his friends. It's this protective streak that lends to him making the final decision to sacrifice himself and accept his fate, take responsibility for the choices that he makes as per his contract that he signed in the very beginning.

Miscellaneous: Honestly, this is just for the small quirks that he has, nothing specific that needs a giant explanation but I found amusing enough to add in. Minato is known for his somewhat sleepy/drowsy kind of attitude as evidenced by the option to sleep in class and in the manga where he's tired or sleepy a lot. He also seems to have a dark sense of humor as one of the dialogue options at one point lets you tell a morgue joke. He also has a rather hilariously large appetite as often seen in the manga where he has a giant soda and even larger hamburger at Wild Duck Burger. Can make accurate fox sounds, rap, and has an amazing singing voice. His artwork is questionable despite being in the art club.

Under pressure: Minato is actually very good under pressure. Noctium will, however, likely give him some pause as it's not only an entirely new planet but his death is what's protecting Earth right now, so he will be largely worried over that rather than how he is going to live on Noctium. He definitely won't show that worry easily due to his quiet nature. Overall, he is able to take things in stride. The biggest example is in the beginning of the game when he arrived in Iwatodai to the Dark Hour already having set and he just casually walked through town with coffins everywhere, the moon was huge and yellow, a green hue was set, and there was blood splatter everywhere. But he just moseyed on down to the dorms like it was no big deal.

That being said, as mentioned before he is very adaptable and while in Noctium he will learn as much as he can about this place, learn about Manna and how it'll translate to his Persona and, of course, Synchrony. Since he's from a game that places heavy emphasis on Social Links and forming bonds, the concept won't be that foreign to him although physical contact will take getting used to. The female social links do show him willing to initiate contact (hugging Yukari in her time of need, the incredibly blatant hint that he very likely slept with several of his female SLs) but generally he's very much comfortable with keeping a physical distance. So, while he is okay with opening up emotionally eventually to those he cares about, it'll definitely take some time for him to be comfortable to physically connect with someone. After all, for the aforementioned female SLs, it isn't until towards the end of those Links that he shows any form of physical intimacy.

As we've seen in all adaptions for Persona 3, Minato is perfectly capable of forming strong and lasting bonds. Adding physical intimacy will be no exception (also he's a horny teenager, come on).

Condition upon arrival: Extreme exhaustion, weak, and likely to sleep for awhile. His cause of death per "The Answer" was severe exhaustion and he was shown at the end of the game to be very tired and having a hard time staying awake as November 5th was his last day. We can assume magic is the reason his soul is not currently being used as the Great Seal right now. He just needs to rest and he'll be right as rain soon enough. His interactions with the NPCs will be minimal, he will be apathetic at first and not very talkative. He might be a little rude but mostly in that he won't give more than one word answers for awhile.

Abilities: He can use a one-handed sword efficiently and is fairly adaptable as he is capable of using any weapon in the game (greatswords, bow, lance, axe, fists). He also has the Wildcard ability where he is capable of summoning up to 12 Personas.

List of Personas: Sarasvati, Surt, Mother Harlot, Scathach, Odin, Kohryu, Norn, Siegfried, Attis, Orpheus, Thanatos, Messiah.

      Inventory: Evoker, Gekkoukan High Uniform, a neck-strap mp3 player (Sony's NW-S20x series), and clip-on earphones (Audio-Technica model ATH-EM700 SV)

      Gembond: Emerald
      Gem Location: Right temple
